A nice female take on one of Conway Twitty’s early hits “Blue Boy”. I think “Blue Boy” was Conway’s second biggest hit as a rock & roll artis, and he named his band after the song (The Lonely Blue Boys) a name they retained until sometime after “Hello Darlin’ ” hit for him

I believe that Anita was first to record this Boudleaux Bryant song for the Cadence label in 1957. Her record never charted but Jim Reeves changed the gender and recorded “Blue Boy” for RCA Victor in January 1958. It became a #2 country single hit in Sept.1958 and later served as the name for Reeves’ back-up band.

Conway Twitty’s band was indeed named for his 1960 pop hit “Lonely Blue Boy” but that was a different song. They were previously named “The Rockhousers:”

Vapor lock, Ken – I remembered that Twitty’s band was named The Lonely Blue Boys , actually heard Twitty sing the Jim Reeves song in concert one time in London , and completely forgot about the other Twitty song
