I had the pleasure of seeing BJ in concert inside the intimate Crazy Horse Saloon in Santa Ana back during the late 1980’s. To my recollection B.J. had already switched to being a gospel/contemporary Christian singer by then but thankfully stuck to mostly his pop and country classics for this show. BJ made a comment from the stage that he had started at the very top with “Hooked on a Feeling” and “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” and had been slowly working his way down the ladder of success ever since! (lol) It was a great show and rarely have I ever heard male crooners with that range of vocal prowess. Crikey!
At least he had a sense of humor about his career arc.
