Surprised that when they did clearances for this program they did not discover that this song is incorrectly titled. “C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S” is the proper title. It was written by Eddy Arnold & Jenny Lou Carson. Eddy first released it as single record for the 1949 Christmas season and 13 years later re-recorded it for his 1962 Christmas album. Many other artists have recorded it too including Ernest Tubb, Rosemary Clooney, Perry Como, Hank Snow, Kitty Wells,The Ames Brothers, Jim Reeves & Ricky Van Shelton (to name a few)

God bless her but Skeeter had a very hard time staying on key in her later years.

The Eddy Arnold clip is terrific. Of course I always liked Eddy “The Tennessee Plowboy” Arnold more than I liked later versions of Eddy Arnold.

Thanks for finding this clip, Ken
