Great vid. Funny, but the way Carl moves his hand about the guitar strings reminds me of Johnny Cash.
This was the song that Carlene Carter reprised as a salute to Carl (and duet) on her “Acts of Treason” CD from the mid ’90s.
It sounded great, if (like with Frank and Nancy Sinatra on “Something Stupid,”) you could get over the lyrics being sung by a Daddy and his daughter.

Excellent clip of Carl and his band from around the time that this song was a hit [1955]
The director missed a beat at :41 when the camera shifted to Sammy Pruett on lead electric guitar before moving to Johnny Sibert who was actually playing the steel guitar for that entire instrumental break. Although television was not even a decade old at the time of this filming Carl really knew how to play to the camera. A class act in every way.
