One of Buck’s best known compositions although it was never a chart hit for him. “Cryin’ Time” was released as the B side of Buck’s 1965 #1 single hit “I’ve Got A Tiger By The Tail” and on the “I’ve Got A Tiger By The Tail” Capitol album. It did receive some limited radio play at the time but became better known by exposure on jukeboxes. The song was fan favorite so Buck included it on his concert set list for most of his career. Many country radio stations ultimately added Buck’s version to their oldies rotation in the 1960’s & early 70’s as fans requested it. In late 1965 Ray Charles released his version as a single and it became a #6 pop hit in early 1966 titled “Crying Time” (without the apostrophe)

The above Hee-Haw clip from September 29, 1970 may be the only time they performed that song together. No commercial duet recording was ever released. Later that season on December 1, 1970 Buck & Ray performed “Together Again.” Ray released his version as the follow-up to “Crying Time.” That single was less successful. It peaked at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1966.
