- Year In Review
Most living inductees to the County Music Hall Of Fame tend to be in the twilight of their career and past their hit-making prime but Eddy Arnold is one of the major exceptions. When he was inducted on October 21, 1966 the 48 year old singer was in the midst of a remarkable career resurgence. The previous year he scored two of his biggest hits with “What’s He Doin’ In My World” and “Make The World Go Away.” Eddy continued to make new hits and 50 years ago this week topped the chart with “Turn The World Around.” Three weeks later on October 20, 1967 Eddy was named the Country Music Association’s very first “Entertainer Of The Year.”
