One of Tammy’s best songs and a great live performance of her 1972 hit featuring a harmony vocal by Patsy Sledd. Written by Tammy and producer Billy Sherrill the Epic single peaked at #2 during the final two weeks of July 1972. Charley Pride’s hold on the top slot with “It’s Gonna Take A Little Bit Longer” prevented her from advancing to #1.

Although the song was one of her biggest chart hits it remained unavailable on CD for many years although numerous Tammy Wynette compilations included lower charting singles. Even her 3-CD box set “Tears Of Fire” failed to include that song although several obscure LP tracks made the cut. It finally surfaced on a 2-CD set issued by the Platinum label in 2004 – “Tammy Wynette Making Love / Lynn Anderson Heart Songs” [33542] One CD was by Tammy and the other by Lynn. [Tammy’s CD included an alternate take of “He Loves Me All The Way”] “Reach Out Your Hand” was finally included on the Sony Legacy 2-CD set “The Essential Tammy Wynette” released in 2013. [NOTE- that song was not issued on the similarly titled 2004 single CD]
