Here’s something that may shock some readers–or get them Googling if they don’t believe it:
Ray Price seen here is several years younger than Tim McGraw, and even Kenny Chesney, are today.
Price is 44 or 45 here, but could be 65. The way he’s presented, he looks like he stepped away from the board of directors meeting at the local savings bank to lip synch this video–and like the only exercise he gets is putting his Sedan de Ville in “drive” and lifting a glass of Johnnie Walker Black. But that didn’t stop him from having four #1 hits in the decade–including this song.

Yes but he was and remained a magnificent vocalist far beyond anything McGraw or Chesney would ever be. I saw Price when he was about 81 years old and he was still a great vocalist

My grandpa’s favorite singer. He always said Ray was the greatest singer in country music history. It took me way longer than it should to get into his music. I’m just 24 but once I heard the “Night Life” record I was hooked and bought every album of his that was available digitally. His 60’s records in my opinion are all classics. I wish they would make a lot more of the classic country singers albums available digitally because for some artists buying cd’s with their music go for 20 dollars plus sometimes past 50 dollars and that is just ridiculous.
