Quite remarkable that this week in 1956 the three country charts were all topped by songs that became enduring classics. Other titles on those charts that week included I Walk The Line by Johnny Cash, Sweet Dreams by Faron Young, Searching by Kitty Wells, You Don’t Know Me by Eddy Arnold , I’m A One Woman Man by Johnny Horton plus new singles by Elvis’ (Love Me Tender) and Ray Price (I’ve Got A New Heartache) Despite the growing rock & roll onslaught it was still a Golden Age for country music.
Love the Randy Travis song, most of these are in my collection.
