    Jeannie’s Decca recording of “Pride” was her latest single around the time of this Hee-Haw performance. Released in mid-1972 the single peaked at #47. I thought that her version was very good at that time and was surprised that it performed so poorly chart-wise. Janie Fricke had more success with her revival when it climbed to #12 in 1981.

    Note that Jeannie is wearing shorts known as “hot pants” in this clip. It was a very popular fashion trend in the early 1970’s. Her vinyl boots were also part of that groovy era.
