Eddy is probably best known for his string of RCA Victor hits during the 1980’s. But before scoring his first #1 hit in 1984 with “I Got Mexico” he released dozens of songs for other record labels including La Louisianne, ABC, ABC/Dot, Monument, Dimension and Elektra where he finally achieved significant chart success in the early 1980’s. “Who Do You Know In California” climbed to #11 in January 1982. Later that year he had his only top ten hit on Elektra with “She’s Playing Hard To Forget.” In 1984 he went to RCA for four years then finished the decade at the Universal & Capitol labels. Eddy was one of the 1980’s most prolific hit-makers placing 18 songs in the top ten – 6 of those hit #1.

Eddy Raven’s songs were also recorded by other singers. His most successful songs included “Ain’t She Something Else” (one of his early ABC singles in 1974) that became a #1 hit for Conway Twitty a decade later. He also penned “Country Green” [#5/1971] and “Touch The Morning” [#6/1973] for Don Gibson and “Thank God For Kids” [#3/1983] for the Oak Ridge Boys.

Eddy released a lot of great music that’s worth your time checking out.

I quite agree. I’ve got quite a few Raven albums and they are all at least good and usually better
