Great find today Hope. “Western String” version of Ray’s 1959 hit with vocal harmony from Cherokee Cowboy Ray Sanders.

The eighty year old Sanders is still with us, and apparently still recording. He had some chart success in the 1960s and 1970s – nothing big, but respectable with six top forty records, the biggest being an excellent cover of Sonny & Cher’s “All I Ever Need Is You” which reached #18

Ray Sander’s first chart single also reached #18 in Billboard in late 1960. His recording of “A World So Full Of Love” may have performed a bit better had it not been competing with Faron Young’s Capitol version for airplay. Both songs climbed to #11 in Cashbox.
Ray’s Liberty recording featured the Anita Kerr Singers who vocally mimicked steel guitar licks in a rather unusual and creative arrangement.
