    Jack’s last real hit reaching #13 in 1974.

    Jack was always one of my favorite male vocalists and still very poorly represented in the digital age, probably the most poorly represented of any first tier artist

    Great song that should have done better on the charts than it did. Miss the great electric piano fills that were featured in the arrangement for his MCA single. His previous single was also excellent – “I Need Somebody Bad.” [#11 in 1973]

    Sadly by the mid-70’s Jack pretty much fell off the radar at MCA despite the fact that he was still making some great recordings. He looked much older than his actual age (early 40’s) and because he had a long stretch without significant hits they let him go in 1976. He continued to record for smaller record labels and remained a member of the Grand Ole Opry but Jack never scored another single hit. He died in 2013.
