It’s painful to watch him play the guitar. I’ve never seen anyone else hold their fret hand that way.

He’s playing bar chords – I’ve known several pickers who played the guitar that way. It gives you about seven chords you can play and is useful only for strumming chords

OK, I believe that.
Still, it looks to me like you might need Tommy John Surgery after playing with your arm like that.
