One of country music’s sweetest voices. Her only big chart success came via duets with Hank Snow in 1951 and Waylon Jennings in 1968. This song was released as a Capitol Records single in early 1971 and climbed to #41 during it’s 8 week chart run. She debuted the song on this TV performance from the ABC-TV Johnny Cash show. Anita was definitely an artist who SHOULD have made it bigger. She was only 66 when she died in 1999 from complications caused by taking medications to treat rheumatoid arthritis for many years.
