This 1974 hit was Waylon’s first Billboard #1 after almost nine years of releases for RCA. Prior to this, according to Billboard, his biggest hit had been “Only Daddy That’ll Walk The Line, which spend five weeks at #2 during the summer of 1968 (It eached #1 on Record World).
Three other songs prior to “This Time” had reached #1 on Record World or Cash Box – “Brown Eyed Handsome Man”, “The Taker” and Waylon’s solo version of “Good Hearted Woman”
