Thanks to Hope for a little slice of country music heaven right here. This song was a RCA Victor single for Johnnie & Jack that charted in Billboard at #15 for just one week during the first week of August 1954. The bass singer in the blue coat is Culley Holt, an original member of the Jordanaires. On this film Holt replicates his vocal contribution to the Johnnie & Jack studio recording. Benny Martin’s fiddle and Shot Jackson’s dobro also played on that May 21, 1954 recording session and both men reprise their superb performances here too.

Holt’s voice was prominently featured on several other Johnnie & Jack hits including (Oh Baby Mine) I Get So Lonely (#1/1954), Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight (#3/1954), Beware of “It” (#9/1954) and Kiss-Crazy Baby (#7/1955) Holt passed away in 1980.
