This was a much better song than it’s chart performance indicated. Released as Vince’s debut MCA single in the late summer of 1989 “Never Alone” peaked at #22 in mid-November.

The follow-up single “Oklahoma Swing” with a guest vocal by Reba McEntire climbed to #13 in April 1990. Vince finally hit one out of the park with his 3rd MCA single – “When I Call Your Name” a #2 hit in August 1990 & The CMA Single Of The Year – and he kept makin’ top ten hits for most of the rest of the ’90’s.

Much rather hear Vince on the radio instead of today’s poor excuses for male vocalists.

Well said, Ken. I’ll add that the original version, from the 1985 Rosanne Cash Rhythm & Romance album, wasn’t half bad either.
