Classic Rewind: Sweethearts Of The Rodeo – ‘Hey Doll Baby’

Vince Gill’s first wife Janis Gill and her sister Kristine Arnold made up this duo, who enjoyed some success in the 1980s. This was their debut single in 1986:

    I liked them a lot, especially their debut album. Their recording of Don Schlitz’s “Midnight Girl In a Sunset Town” is one of my favorite songs from the mid-1980s era of country music. Too bad they were so overshadowed by The Judds.

    I actually know their Sugar Hill albums, but don’t have their early work. I’ll have to find them, but they’re not available digitally.
