I love Carlene Carter. I bought her three studio albums in the 90s and her Hindsight 20/20 compilation still gets a lot of spins at my house. She’s so rarely mentioned these days.

I have this CD somewhere; I haven’t played it in a long time. I always liked Carlene and was surprised that she didn’t have a longer period of success.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of her personal demons got in the way of her career toward the end of the 90s. But she recovered quite nicely and released a strong album a couple of years ago. Of course, it got no love from radio.

Jessica Andrews covered this song about a decade or so later and also had a nice recording of it

I’m a big fan of Carlene’s song Easy From Now On, and love both the Emmylou and Miranda versions.

Also curious about her latest album, a few years old now? Just wondering if anyone can recommend it and what style of Country it is..ie how Traditional it is?

I can’t help you out with her latest album. The reviews were good but I don’t personally own it. I can recommend Terri Clark’s version of “Easy From Now On”, however. It’s from her album Fearless and Emmylou sings the background vocals.

Thanks Michael, I’ll have to check out Terri’s version.
