    thanks. enjoyed seeing that. Amid all the brouhaha about TS spelling the doom of country music, I saw in a comment by J.R. Journey that at one time Ronnie (among others) was considered by some to be a threat to the genre. He was one of the big reasons I began shifting toward country music in the late 70’s. Great singer and entertainer. When I saw him in concert, I recall him joking about driving the tour bus. I really enjoyed his 2006 cd “My Life” in addition to his hits on The Essential Ronnie Milsap, a 40 song, 2 disc collection from BMG Music in ’06.

      Ronnie Milsap was just one of many artists who were having crossover success in the post-Urban Cowboy period. He’s also made some great traditional country music too – this is a prime example. I’m a huge Ronnie Milsap fan, and my introduction to his music came from the same 40 #1 Hits collection you mentioned.
