    Remember the old Norm Macdonald joke from SNL? That’s what 1999’s chart topper makes me think of. “Garth Brooks released a Christmas album this year. Happy Birthday, Jesus. Hope you like crap!” That may be a little harsh but I couldn’t take a ride with him on this sound experiment. Beyond the Season wasn’t anything great, but it was loads better than The Magic of Christmas. Terribly frightening album cover too!
