Great stuff Razor, This video is a perfect example why I keep saying that Patty Loveless is a great entertainer as well as an acomplished artist. She just has so much darn fun when she performs the stuff she loves.

I love the way Patty holds the “knelt” note, and the good Dr. does a double take. There used to be an awesome Youtube up where Ralph shakes her by the shoulder while she’s holding that same note, and Patty continues perfectly unfazed. I swear, these two are like some kind of 19th century traveling medicine show or something sometimes.

And here, I love the way she stands enraptured by Ralph Sanley’s voice, and plants one on his cheek at the end.

This is just a great, great song, and a wonderful performance. Pretty Polly would make a great bonus track for MS II or better yet, the seed-core of a possible Mountain Soul III if we can be so blest. 😉
