    A great song and a great performance. What was remarkable about the song was that Anderson was so young and yet so believeable when he recorded it

    As an aside, if you happen to catch a Michigan artist named Henry T Culp, he often performs the song and has recorded it . His version is nearly as good as that of John Anderson

    I agree with Paul — very believable performance though he was much younger than the character in the song. Enjoyed this one! (loved the fiddle player’s “leisure suit” look! ha!)
