Is it guilty in here?

The E.N.D., by The Black Eyed Peas

The E.N.D., by The Black Eyed Peas

I have a confession to make- it may destroy any credibility I might have had here and it may drive away readers, but here it is: I’m addicted to the song “Boom Boom Pow” by the Black Eyed Peas. On Tuesday a friend of mine sang two lines of the song, before I had even heard it, and when I heard the whole song, I got hooked. I know it’s a nonsensical and terrible song, but it’s so infectious that I can’t stop, I even know all the words…

So it’s weird, but I like having it stuck in my head, no matter how embarrassing, I actually love the song! This hasn’t happened since Sugarland released “All I Want To Do” over the summer. After the song came out, I went on a 10 day backpacking trip and that song was constantly playing over and over. At one point I whistled the song, and it actually started getting stuck in other people’s heads- even when they’d never heard it before! Then I looked around on the internet to see this song getting lambasted, so I felt like I couldn’t say that I liked it because so many others hated it!

Want to hear some more of mine? “Feel That Fire” by Dierks Bentley, “Lucky 4 U (Tonight I’m Just Me)” by SHeDAISY, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” by Beyoncé and “Love Story” by Taylor Swift. Obviously these songs tend to be not very country, but still, I want to know:

What songs are your guilty pleasures?

If you really want to hear it, here’s a link to see the music video for “Boom Boom Pow”. I sire hope none of you like it…

By now, my guilty pleasure is “I Hate This Part” by The Pussycat Dolls. =O
Basically, it’s for the lyrics (?) and the meaning stuff, but I can’t quit listening! I keep it playing over and over…

On the “country” side, I think Jessica Simpson ‘s “Sipping On History” and Kristy Lee Cook’s “Not Tonight” are the songs I can remember right now…

And Chris, don’t worry about your credibility! Everyone has those songs that we kinda hate to love. At least for me, you didn’t lose any points, as you have already mentioned your musical taste before.

I love ‘I hate this part” too… And I’m always saying to my friends how bad the Pussy Cat Dolls are *Blushes*.

Country-wise, I really like Taylor Swift too (Even saw her live), and I love Shedaisy.

I’ve only heard Boom Boom Pow twice, and I was surprised that I actually kinda liked it. Normally I can’t stand the Black Eyed Peas.

Right Round by Flo Rida is sadly quite catchy too, if only for the chorus.

But my biggest guilty pleasure lately has been Lady Gaga’s Poker Face. Her performance on American Idol was especially amazing!

Wow, everybody sure likes some crappy stuff. Ha.

I will admit to being a secret fan of 80s power ballads. And I love everything Pat Benatar ever did.

Hmmmmm… how much room do I have? Well, first of all, I like Taylor Swift’s “Love Story”, PCD’s “I Hate This Part” and Lady Gaga. As far as some of my favorite 80s guilty pleasures, I would have to include Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth”, Roxette’s “Fading Like a Flower”, Hall & Oates “Private Eyes”, Scandal’s “The Warrior”, Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”, and Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.” I also have to mention Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy”, Diddy’s “Last Night” and Celine Dion. My God, this is embarrassing… and I haven’t even mentioned any of the cheesy power ballads that I love so much. Oh, well. It is fun.

Hmmm…..anything by Christina Aguliera and Kelly Clarkson, love cheesy power ballads, love Bonnie Tyler, and Meat Loaf. I even admit to still having an En Vogue album at home….. and I am sure that there are more that I cannot think of but I even like some of the heavy metal that the hubby likes.

It seems to be a lot of the same songs, I love “I Hate This Part”, “Poker Face” and Taylor Swift.

I also really like Beyonce’s “Diva” too. xD

Lady Gaga is a big one for me. Well she was a guilty pleasure until I heard a a couple guys whistiling to “Poker Face”, and felt less guilty that I liked her songs.

Haha, guys Kelly Clarkson should not be a guilty pleasure, okay maybe for the guys, but for girls it’s hard to see her as a guilty pleasure for them.

An old one, but a good guilty pleasure for me is Shania’s “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” lol.

Definitely Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone” and Beyonce’s “Halo.” They’re both getting close to about 30 plays on my iPod…

The Fray is my favourite band. They aren’t country by any stretch of the imagination, but they’re pretty awesome. Who didn’t like Over My Head or How To Save a Life anyway?
