    I can’t say I’m familiar with Gail Davies’ work–other than that Webb Pierce tribute album that she organized several years ago–but she sounds great here. I’d bet she was a big influence on Kathy Mattea, but I think Davies is better. I hope they’ll issue a deluxe, annotated CD of her work.
