Wow – nice find Hope! A #7 hit on the RCA label for Leon from June 1982.
Leon recorded for the small “Orlando” label in the late 1970′s finally scoring a top ten hit with “Over” in mid-1980 (His BEST song in my book) RCA signed him and he added 7 more big hits through early 1984. Unfortunately no CD compilation of his hits has ever been released. Too bad because he had some truly great songs.
Like Ken, I regret that there isn’t anything available by Leon Everette on CD . Over time I’ve accumulate everything he released that made the top 30, plus a couple of his RCA albums. My personal favorites are “Hurricane” and “Midnight Rodeo” but everything I’ve heard from him has been worthwhile
He apparently is still actively performing and has a website (which is not terribly current) and he has released a religious album in the last few years that is available from his website

Funny, this is the first I’ve ever heard of the guy.
Seems to have a bit of Marty Robbins influence–in his vocalizing and in the way he holds his guitar!
Don’t know why he didn’t make it bigger–Maybe he got lost in the shuffle.
I liked him a lot. He just disappeared for some reason.
