Awesome – what a talent! And how nice to see Andrew Gold again
Linda was and is a singer willing (no pun intended) to take chances with what she sang, and clearly this male truck-drivin’ song by her good friend Lowell George, a great piece of California country-rock, is an example of this, and why she has been an inspiration to several generations of like-minded female artists who have come along since. There will never be anyone else like her (IMHO).
No question that whenever Linda sang a song she OWNED it.
As for today’s lightweight (or actually featherweight) poor excuses for female vocalists, whenever they sing a song they barely RENT it.
A great performance. I enjoy Linda Ronstadt’s material, country-flavored and otherwise.
