      The Porter & Dolly version is my favorite of all the versions I’ve heard of this song. Were they the first ones to rework it as a duet?

    I’ve heard lots and lots of versions of this song. I think the Rosanne Cash version is my favorite, with Johnny singing harmony.

    I love Patty’s version with Jon Randall from Mountain Soul. She does much of her work, of course, with a mind to honor Dolly and Porter, and her MS version is no exception.

    I really like this Dolly and Porter original, vocally, I think it’s in the same league with Patty’s, but I prefer the more drumless Mountain sound on the Loveless version.

    I’ve also seen a version on YouTube of Patty and Porter singing this song together at a live event, and it was incredible as well.
