Apparently Sugarland was just teasing us by releasing a video for the song ‘Love’, never intending for it to go to radio. But, we still have an incredible music video of an epic song to watch. And we have this one to hear on the radio for the next 20 weeks. I can live with that. The first time I listened to the Love On The Inside album, I knew this tune was destined for radio. So, let’s talk about the song.
Jamey Johnson seems to have done the make-a-video-then-release-something-else-as-a-single thing too, with Mowin’ Down The Roses and High Cost f Living. I wonder if maybe we’re seeing a change in marketing approaches, with one song being picked for pushing at CMT/GAC, and another for radio, and if the trend will catch on. It would be a way of extending the marketing reach of an album, given that it takes so ridiculously long for a single to run its course at radio these days.
I can’t help noticing how thematically similar this song is to “Something More”, with “Something More” being a much better song.
I’m not much of a Sugarland fan, I’ll admit, but I really like this one. It’s much better than “All I Want to Do”. Thematically, it kinda reminds me of Shania Twain’s “Up”, but I like it better…maybe because “Up” is old news though… It’s fun.
I love this song!!!!!
Oh, and I definitely like this better than either Love or All I Want To Do.
This song is fun, very fun. It just sounds like a smash single, and a great one at that.
Also, the last time the chorus is sung, I still hear a pause between “sh” and “it”, so I’m not quite sure what you’re hearing JR. xD
Anyway, very accurate review. I love Sugarland.
